First Bit of Maintenance

March 1: Time To Get To Work
For the first time in nearly two weeks, I actually had to do something in the garden besides admire it. It was time to thin the radishes. I pulled out nearly half of them. This took about three minutes. Now, they are spaced about 1" apart. Each radish has plenty of room to grow to its full size. I've read that radish sprouts are edible, but I've never tried them. Tonight, I'll toss them in the salad and see how my family reacts.
In the past week, the beans have grown a couple of inches, the beets have grown just a bit and the carrots and bunching onions have finally sprouted. Now, I'm just waiting for the potatoes to do something. I should see some green leafy sprouts any day now.
