Farmers Market in My Backyard

Now that our Oasis garden is in full swing, it's like having a farmers' market in our own backyard. This week we ate 13 different home-grown vegetables and herbs! In addition to all that's been growing for the past couple of weeks, we've begun to harvest the scallions and the first zucchini will be ready in a few days.
My big dilemma is what to do with the snow peas. At this point, there are about five to ten pods to harvest each day. But, since peas don't like the heat, the leaves are starting to turn yellow. While they don't look as pretty, they're much easier to harvest. They've grown up over the trellis and down the back side. I no longer need a ladder or my husband to reach them. The problem is, I like my garden to be beautiful and the yellow leaves just aren't attractive. So, in a couple of days, I'll have to bring myself to rip them out, even though they're still producing pea pods. For some reason, I have a hard time doing this. Below is a photo of yours truly in the garden with yellowing peas on the trellis.
Here are a few fabulous recipes that I used this week, all from www.epicurious.com: Crisp Haricots Verts with Pine Nuts; Spinach and Apple Salad With Crispy Almonds; and Sesame Snow Peas. I also sautéed some beet greens with olive oil, butter, shallots and lemon juice--wonderful! Soon I'll be cooking my favorite zucchini breads. I'll be sure to post the recipes.
