The "Fun" Mom
The neighborhood's most popular "hang-out" house

Before I had children, I knew that I wanted our home to be one where my children's friends would want to "hang out." I always hoped I would be the "fun" mom in the neighborhood, providing an atmosphere that would make parents comfortable and give their children a feeling of home.
Now that I have half a dozen children of my own, with one on the way, I'm not so sure that I could be considered the "fun" mom in the neighborhood at this point - I'll let my friend, Donna, continue to hold that title - but I do think that, most days, many of the kids in the neighborhood, as well as many of my children's friends, just like to hang out at our house.
Why? Well, mainly because our backyard has turned into quite the little park, thanks to our new Mt. Rainier play set. Not only do my own kids sneak out to play, at all hours of the day, but I will most likely find a couple of extra kids out there with them.
Ya know, I may not be the "fun" mom in the neighborhood, but that's okay... we're the only family with a park in our backyard!
