Mariana Perez is a Texas transplant living in the suburbs of Washington, DC with her husband of almost 10 years and their two beautiful daughters, 3 and 6 years old. She believes that a love for the outdoors is one of the few things everyone in the family can share. Her most vivid memories are those hours spent swinging on their backyard playset, making sand castles at the beach, or camping in the woods.

As a stay-at-home mom to a preschooler and a rising Kindergartner, Mariana understands how important unstructured outdoor play is to a child's development. Her daughters have learned respect for animals and their environment while collecting rocks, hunting for bugs, and picking fresh flowers. Mother Nature is a great teacher, providing the girls with a feast for their senses; an endless supply of colors, sounds, textures, and smells for them to discover.

When not chasing after her daughters, Mariana loves to do crossword puzzles, watch reality TV, and dabbles in photography and web design in her free time. You can also often find her writing at Riding With No Hands, where she blogs about motherhood, marriage, and everything it entails, including hundreds of reviews of products her family loves.
