History of Backyard Leisure:
Since 1968 we have designed and manufactured quality products for several diverse industries.
Beginning with Politron, Inc. based in Pittsburg, KS, we have manufactured metal and plastic products for agriculture including livestock gates, watering and feeding products. We now manufacture over 55 products available from local farm and home retail stores.
Politron also manufactures custom plastic products for a variety of industries such as aviation, automotive, and the food and beverage industry. Using a variety of materials and nearly any shape up to 5' x 9', thermoforming is a precise and cost effective way to manufacture plastic components. Thermoforming starts with sheets of plastic and uses large, custom molds and vacuum to draw the plastic sheet into shape. Once completed the products have a smooth finish and tremendous strength - exactly to your specifications.
Leisure Time Products designs and manufactures wooden playsets for residential applications. We cut the wood, form the plastics, and put it all together into a Ready to Assemble ("RTA") kit that is durable and lasts for years. We also make our own picnic tables, using our metal, plastic and wood manufacturing capabilities. Nation-wide retailers such as Wal-Mart, Sam's, and Toys-R-Us have sold our products for years under the name "Adventure Playsets".
In 2007, we merged with Backyard Adventure from Amarillo, TX. These folks also had a great deal of success making RTA playsets and selling them through retailers such as BJs Clubs. They also had a fantastic line of "custom" playsets where the customer could build their own playset using modular components. These were sold through a dealer network across the country and are still the leading brand of specialty playsets available.
The new company resulting from Backyard Adventures and Leisure Time Products is Backyard Leisure, LLC. We sell more playsets than any other manufacturer in the country. Our full-featured sets range in price from $299 to over $10,000, yet each one offers a full range of play stations including swings, slides, and climbing walls plus much, much more! All our sets are designed with the utmost safety in mind, allowing you and your child to get years of enjoyment out of the playset with the confidence they're getting plenty of exercise, fresh air, and developing their imagination! At Backyard Leisure, your quality playtime is our goal.
